North Campus residence halls are close to Old Main and Wilson Library. The nearest dining hall is Viking Commons, which is also right next to the Viking Union where students can relax and enjoy a bite to eat.

Mathes Hall has been the National Residence Hall Honorary Hall of the Year the past two years and Pacific Regions Community of the Year for 2005-2006, recognizing the excellence of their programs and community involvement.

Mathes Hall houses women and men on separate floors in double-occupancy rooms with interior corridors. Alcohol-free floors house half of the students in the building.

Mathes has great views of Bellingham Bay and the Canadian Coastal Range, and features a sundeck, study area, lounges on every floor, game rooms, and a main lounge with a fireplace that serves as the social center for the entire building. Staff members offer many events and programs, facilitating an active community of new and returning residents.

Bunking/lofting beds, desks, closets and chest of drawers.

Dimensions:
The average double student room is approximately 183 square feet.

Flooring:
Vinyl tile.

Lighting:
Desk and ceiling lights are provided in student rooms. Many students choose to bring additional lights for their rooms.

A large main lounge with a fireplace serves as a social center for the entire building. There is also a game room with pool and ping-pong tables and a computer lab. A small lounge and kitchenette are located on each floor.

With creative, involved, and welcoming residents; an energetic and friendly staff; and a beautiful building in a convenient location - Mathes is a great community to live.

Mathes Hall Council is very motivated and involved, and provides a lot of great leadership opportunities for interested residents. Mathes also puts on a large number of programs and events each year. The most notable event is Piccadilly, a large campus wide formal dance put on in cooperation with Nash Hall.
