The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is a national
organization of college student leaders committed to community service and
the recognition of exceptional students, events and groups on campus.
Recognition:
One of the most popular ways NRHH recognizes excellence on campus is
through the Of The Month (OTM) process. Each month Western students and
staff nominate residence hall programs, communities, resident advisors,
staffs, students, hall council members and more to be designated as an Of
The Month winner. NRHH members then vote on the nominations and designate
OTM winners in each category.
Service:
NRHH also encourages students to become more involved in their surrounding
communities. In years past Western's chapter has sponsored a number of
large-scale programs including: the All You Need to Survive drive;
Cinderella, Cinderfella (prom clothes and accessories drive); AIDS Walk
(raising money for Sean Humphrey House); Hall of the Year competition;
Make a Difference Day; No Empty Bowls (raising money for Bellingham Food
Bank). We are currently planning this year's calendar and would like to
hear your ideas!
Membership:
NRHH membership in each school's chapter is restricted to the top one
percent of students living in the residence halls. Western, with an
on-campus population of approximately 3800 students, has an active
membership capacity of 38 students. Members are selected through an
application process once each quarter.
