How to make Payment

Your quarterly payment for room and board or apartment rent is due and payable on or before the first day of class each quarter. Payments received after the posted deadline will incur a late fee. The 2007-08 payment schedule is as follows:

Fall Quarter Payments Due: September 24, 2008
Winter Quarter Payments Due: January 6, 2009
Spring Quarter Payments Due: March 31, 2009

Late payments are subject to late fees. The WWU official late fee policy states:

Failure to pay charges may result in late fees and/or cancellation of your registration. A quarterly $75 late payment fee is applied for charges not paid by the deadline (reference Timetable of Classes for deadlines). A 1% interest charge will be assessed monthly on all past due accounts. The current amount due to the University on your online billing statement may be adjusted due to activity on your account after the billing date. You are responsible to pay all tuition, housing and fees on time. For a current account balance, access Web for Students at the Web4U “View and Pay Account” option.

Each month you will receive an email billing notification via your WWU assigned internal email account. Due to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, WWU requires the permission of the student prior to the release of any account information to another party (e.g. parents) besides the student. For instructions on how to fill out an Information Release form, how to setup an Authorized Payer, or how to VIEW/PRINT/PAY your account, please access Western's Homepage, and click on the "Pay Tuition and Fees" icon. (Please note: at one step in this process you will need to log on to Web4u, therefore, you will need your PIN number to complete the process.) You may also call the Student Accounts Office at (360) 650-2865 if you have additional questions.

As of 9/1/07 the University changed its credit card payment policy for payments made regarding Student Account charges.
