Taste of New OrleansMardi Gras Revelry Comes to Western!February 12, 2007 -- The campus community is invited to experience the unique foods and lighthearted fun of Mardi Gras at a special "Taste of New Orleans" dinner to be held on Tuesday, February 20 at Fairhaven Commons. The festivities, complete with lively music and traditional green, purple and gold decorations, begin at 5:30 pm and end at 6:45. A variety of delectable dishes will be prepared by Chef Mark Eilberg and his staff including Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo, Shrimp Louis Salad, Blackened Rockfish with Roasted Red Pepper Aioli, Vegetarian Ratatouille, Fried Okra, Creole Pecan Pie, Coconut Cream Pie and dozens of other selections. The price of the meal is $10.35 and payment is accepted in the form of Western Washington University meal plans, Flex Points, Munch Money, cash and credit cards. "A Taste of New Orleans" is the second of three annual "Chef's Night" meals being presented at resident dining halls during winter quarter. "African Safari" is the theme of the final dinner, to be held at Viking Commons from 5:15 - 6:45 pm on March 8.
